Last week, we participated in the 18th International Deafblind Conference, held in Ottawa, which brought together participants from around the world to discuss deafblindness issues and share experiences and knowledge.

We were amazed by the large number of attendees and the multitude of booths dedicated to critical aspects of deafblindness and raising awareness about the challenges faced by the deafblind community. The diverse array of technologies, services, and information channels tailored for deafblind individuals left a lasting impression. The conference program was highly engaging, featuring a wide range of speakers, including educators, practitioners, and even comedian Rick Mercer, who shared their expertise and insights.

At the 4Blind booth, we showcased the HaptiBraille communicator for deafblind individuals, explaining its functionality and conducting demonstrations. Educators, instructors, and representatives from various foundations approached us to learn more about the device and its capabilities.

"We aim to bring the deafblind community together showcasing latest research, experiences, and best practices that are shaping the world for those who are deafblind," said Cathy Proll, Chair of DBNO.

We extend our gratitude to the organizers for creating a fantastic atmosphere; participating in the conference was an unforgettable experience. We are inspired and motivated to continue developing products that can enhance the lives of deafblind individuals.
